Bob Marley has been specially selected to be honoured by the Government of Ghana 'Akwaaba Anyemi Programme' under the 'The Joseph Project'. His widow, Mrs Rita Marley has been invited to collect the award at the launch of The Joseph Project on Saturday, July 21 to Sunday, August 12 in Accra, Ghana.

Bob Marley was selected by a nominating committee of Africans, who have similarly excelled in their own fields, and thought it important to honour him. The purpose of The Joseph Project is to change the '21st Century' into the 'African Century'."
